Jan-e-man

The film Janeman ,a comedy feel good movie directed by Chidambaram starring Basil Joseph , Arjun Ashok ,Ganpathi ,Lal ,Siddharth Menon ,Balu Varghese in lead roles. The film is a perfect combination of humour, tears , wit and sensitivity. It never felt crowded or overdone as it is a nice balance of laughter and intesnse emotions. It is a pleasure to watch even the fresh faces making the best out of the opportunity they got. Joymon played by Basil Joseph visits Kerala to celebrate his birthday. He wants to celebrate it with his school friends and stay with Sampath played by Arjun Ashokan where they plan further preparations for his birthday. Suddenly an elderly person who is their neighbor dies and the death reveals secrets which have an impact on Sampat’s life forms the rest part of the story. The story shows that how loneliness, departure from love can affect the life of a person. The film makes us experience Joymons crunching solitude and his terrible predicament of having everyone but not having a person to open his heart and sentiments. But it finally becomes a film about human connections and life and death. It depicts many of today’s adults emotional downfall and fall of friendship and family relationships.

When there are two or three conflicting emotional tones in a storey, filmmakers frequently struggle to find the right balance.

Nonetheless, both the filmmakers and the actors not only get it right, but they also take the audience on a roller-coaster ride of emotional highs and lows that come one after the other.

While the script by Chidambaram, Ganapathi, and Sapnesh Varachal progresses by switching between the two houses’ contrasting moods, there is more to it than that. There are a lot of characters and side stories crammed into the narrative, but the audience never loses sight of the central theme.
The subject of mental health is at the heart of the storey, even if it appears to be an afterthought. The script seamlessly transitions into that conversation between two characters dealing with nearly identical issues in different ways. As an awareness class, the sensitive portrayal of their issues does not stand out. The scene is one of the many high points in the film, which also includes a beautifully written fireworks sequence and a ‘Superman tribute.’

Jan-E-man hits all the right notes with its inventive script and sincere performances. Overall it is a family entertainment movie which makes us laugh and a bit emotional. Janeman with its inventive script and earnest performances hits all the right notes.
